"Igniting the Light Within"
Community Youth Ministries
Our House "has been running since 1992, when the first 15-year old juvenile was brought to "Our House" by a Reedley Police Department Detective that was concerned about her safety. Currently referrals come in through community agencies, churches, and schools, as well as from both the Victims Services and Youth MAP Collaboratives.
This is a transitional home for young women, ages 16-30, who are homeless or in need of safe housing. The goal is to get these young women into long-term housing within a year. This also includes teen moms and their children.
The house is also a center of activity for CYM that includes programs like Kids Clubs, weekly Teen Mom meetings, and various trainings and other events.
If you would like more information or know of a young woman who would benifit from "Our House", you can contact our Transitional Home Coordinator, Amy Gabroian, at 559.638.6585.
Some of the amazing volunteers who worked hard at remodeling the house.
In 2009 CYM received funding from the City of Reedley to renovate the home, ensuring that this would remain a safe haven for young women and their children for years to come!
